About Jillianne Hamilton
Writing books and composing blog posts make up a major chunk of my life. My first novel, Molly Miranda: Thief for Hire, was published in 2015 and was shortlisted for the 2016 Prince Edward Island Book Award. My second and third novels, Molly Miranda: Thick as Thieves and Molly Miranda: Honor Among Thieves, were published in 2016 and 2017. My first non-fiction book, The Lazy Historian’s Guide to the Wives of Henry VIII, was published in 2018. Learn more.
I’m passionate about history. I’m currently working on my first historical fiction novel, I blog about various aspects of history over at The Lazy Historian, I read and review historical fiction, and I’ve written two non-fiction history books as well:
- The Lazy Historian’s Guide to the Wives of Henry VIII
- The Lazy Historian’s Guide to Woodstock and the Music of the 1960s
I graduated from the Journalism program at Holland College in 2010 and then, after that, the Interactive Multimedia program. I was hired by a PEI graphic and web design firm in 2011 and I’ve been there ever since. My work has been featured on Smashing Magazine and in The Mobile Web Designer’s Idea Book.
I also love podcasts, crafting, costume dramas, comedy, tattoos, and feminism. I live with my extremely patient husband and a very cute corgi puppy in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on Canada’s beautiful east coast.
I am not currently accepting book review requests. None of the book reviews I write are posted in exchange for monetary compensation. If books were provided to me by an author or a publisher, I have stated this in the review.
