Review: A Perilous Undertaking + A Treacherous Curse
August 13, 2019

This is my new favorite book series.

There. I said it.

Author Deanna Raybourn has found something incredibly special with the highly intelligent and feisty heroine of her bestselling Veronica Speedwell historical fiction mystery series. These books are so much fun, laugh-out-loud funny, and wonderfully thrilling. The relationship between Veronica and Stoker, her partner-in-crime, is entirely frustrating but only in the best way.

A Perilous Undertaking and A Treacherous Curse are both very good books. I read them very quickly, back to back. (I read and reviewed the first in the series over here.) The only difference between the two is that the third book in the series made me cry because of an especially tender moment—that’s all I’ll say!

Angele Masters continues to be an excellent audiobook narrator, never deviating from Veronica’s clever tone or Stoker’s husky voice.

I’m going to be so bummed when I’ve run out of Veronica Speedwell books to inhale. ugh! Thankfully, I still have book #4 to go. I expect the review will show up on this blog before too long. Then I’ll be doomed to wait for the release of book #5 in March 2020.

RATING FOR BOTH BOOKS: 5/5
