Celebrating 1 Year of Excellence

Me. I am. Celebrating, that is.

In May of 2011, I started a freelance web and graphic design business under the name Athena Studios. I had some wonderful clients, I learned a lot and worked on some projects I’m very proud of.

I’m especially proud of the website and logo I created for a charity, International Sustainable Community Assistance (ISCA/AIDC) as well as the website I created for The Joseph A. Ghiz Memorial Park and the design work I’ve done with Red Rock ‘N Roller Derby League.

In September 2011, I started working as a graphic designer at Revolution Media. I joined the team at a pivotal moment as the company changed owners and branding. Now I do work for brands like Vogue Optical, Paderno, the City of Charlottetown, Slemon Park Corporation, Red Shores Racetrack & Casino and many others. I’ve also worked on campaigns like this year’s very successful Hockey Day in Canada 2012.

Not bad from someone from away, huh?

Dave Grohl Is In Every Band: Destiny’s Child

Dave Grohl joined popular R&B group Destiny’s Child briefly in 2002. My research shows Beyoncé evicted Grohl from the band once she began feeling threatened by his presence. Foo Fighters fans were showing up at concerns with signs reading “PLAY EVERLONG!”

Dave Grohl Is In Every Band: Bad Habits

Now that it is common knowledge that Dave Grohl is, indeed, in every band, I’ve been doing more research into the subject. We know he was in Nirvana. We know about the Foo Fighters, Them Crooked Vultures and now we know he was in The Beatles too.

Upon further research, I have uncovered a photo of Dave Grohl posing with Charlottetown-based blues/rock band Bad Habits.

Shame on you, Bad Habits, for not crediting Dave Grohl on your website. My information tells me Grohl plays guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, backup vocals, mandolin, upright bass, keytar, piano, steel drum, xylophone, accordion, bugle horn, clarinet, ocarina, pan flute, recorder, saxophone, slide whistle, trombone, trumpet, tuba, washboard, fiddle, lute, sitar, ukelele and harp.

[edit] Since posting this historical research on this blog, further investigation has lead me to believe Dave Grohl also plays Xaphoon.

“I’m much better with the Xaphoon than Dale,” said Grohl in an interview. “And if he thinks otherwise, then he is a XaPHOOL.” [/edit]

Dave Grohl Is In Every Band

A few months ago, I discovered that Dave Grohl is not only in a ton of bands, but he’s actually in every band. See the image below for proof!

At first, I couldn’t believe it. I mean, that’s not possible! But I did a little digging into some historic music archives and I’m starting to find more and more photos of Grohl in older bands. I’ll share them as I come across more.

For now, here is a photo I found of Dave Grohl when he did backup vocals and fill-in drums for The Beatles.
